Tools
Every tool on this list is free and works on your own text or your own details. A checker marks what it finds in the text you paste. A builder writes a message from the dates and times you enter. Each one sits on a page that explains what it looks for and what it cannot do.
- Voice & StandardsThe main writing checker. Set your own rules (spelling, date format, words to avoid), save a profile counted from your own messages, and check a draft against both.
- Before you sendPaste a message and see what its reader could get wrong: a weekday that does not match its date, a date or number with two readings, a time with no place.
- British or American spelling checkerPaste your text to see which variety it is in and which words break the pattern.
- Checker for errors a spellchecker passesMarks sound-alike words, doubled words and “would of” in your text.
- CV phrase checkerFinds duty phrases and claims with nothing behind them in your CV.
- Out-of-office message builderEnter your dates and who covers for you, and copy the message.
- Empty adjective checker for product descriptionsHighlights the words in a product description that say nothing.
- Softener checker for emailsMarks “just”, “sorry”, “I think” and the phrases that hide a request.
- Opening hours writerSet your times for each day and get the hours written out, ready for a sign or a website.
- Email length counterSee how the length of your email compares with 79,569 real work emails.
- One word or two checkerFinds “login” where it should be “log in”, and other pairs a spellchecker passes.
- Number and date formats by countryEnter a number and a date, and see how thirteen countries write them.
- Readability score calculatorScores your text and marks the sentences over 25 words.
All of them run in your browser. What you paste or type is not sent anywhere. Your settings, the rules and profiles you make in Voice & Standards, and details you ask a form to remember are kept in your own browser and nowhere else.
Questions about the tools
Are the tools free?
Yes, all of them. There is nothing to buy and no account to create.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Each tool is code that runs in your browser, and the text you paste stays there. The one exception is a button marked “The Verbarium AI”, where the assistant is switched on: pressing it sends the sentence or the text it belongs to, or the message you type, to Google.
Which tool should I start with?
For a draft you want checked against rules of your own, Voice & Standards. For an email with dates or times in it, Before you send. The others each do one job, and the name of each says which.
Do the tools correct my text for me?
No. A checker marks places to look, and you decide what to change. None of them judges meaning, and a text with nothing marked can still have mistakes in it.
